Team member: Christy Heath
Prior to HIWU, Heath was a criminal justice litigation & victims’ right attorney with the United States Air Force (USAF) JAG Corps, completing active duty service in January 2024. While there, she was the chief advisor to senior leaders on military justice issues, served as lead government counsel on Air Force Reserve-related administrative separation boards, and oversaw the disposition and prosecution of hundreds of misdemeanors and felony-level offenses within the USAF. During her time with the USAF JAG Corps, Heath also represented victims of sexual assault and domestic violence by military members and presented at three national conferences on victim-related issues in the military. Heath's commitment to advocating for the rights of others is also evident in her love of horses.
Heath also practiced as a special assistant United States attorney in the District of New Jersey, clerked for the Honorable Timothy Corrigan in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and served as a practicing extern at the Camden County District Attorney’s Office in Georgia.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a legal emphasis from Lindsey Wilson College and earned her Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, from the Florida Coastal School of Law.
